Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant Review

I recently received the valentine's edition of the famous Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Skin Protectant *- and oh my word it is all kinds of amazing.

I honestly did not think that a cream could be so intently moisturising without feeling sticky. I feel that the moisture in this cream really sinks into the skin and does a great a job of keeping my hands soft and smooth during the colder months.

This cream is multi-purpose as it states you can use it to shape brows, revitalise shine, soothe dry hands and smooth cuticles and nails. 'The skincare classic that soothes, restores, calms and helps relieve chapped, cracked, dry skin. Soothes roughness, redness and minor skin irritations.'

Reading the product description for me was so fascinating and it made me realise why this product is so cult in the beauty world:

'What made it so effective is a combination of petrolatum, a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy in one of its first cosmetic uses, and vitamin E. The apricot coloured balm was so beneficial to her clients, Miss Arden used it to soothe her famous thoroughbred horses' legs. Even its name came about thanks to a remarkable performance - a loyal client used it to treat her child's skinned knee and Eight Hour®s later the skin was all better.'

My only minor criticism is the scent, I don't know if I am just used to sickly sweet scents but I find the fragrance very strong in an almost herbal way - but I know some people who are totally crazy for the scent so hey it is probably just me.

Have you tried this cream before?

  1. I haven't ever heard of this! I would imagine it's good being an Elizabeth Arden product after all! I'm intrigued to it though! xxx
