The Power of Makeup

I feel that these posts are really important because it shows that underneath the makeup, we are all just 'normal', we all have things we dislike or feel insecure about ourselves. Makeup is my ultimate pick me up and it can totally transform how I am feeling, if I wake up having a bad skin day, I'll wear a bolder lip to make me feel more confident, if I struggled to sleep the night before, I'll use a heavy duty concealer, makeup can help us feel more confident on days we do not. So as much as I hate posting this picture, I feel it is important to any girls who maybe do not feel good enough when they remove their makeup at the end of the day. For years I felt it was necessary to wear thick layers of foundation just to go to the supermarket, but now I know how unreal it is to look photoshopped and 'perfect' to just go to the shops, it is not necessary and it is not real. I love makeup, and I honestly love what it can do but this is real.

I decided to go quite minimal with my makeup simply to show how makeup can enhance your features rather than detract from them. When I was around 12 and I discovered dream matte mouse by maybelline in one of the darkest shades (cringing) my grandma always used to tell me 'Kirsty, less is more' it took me a good year or so to listen to that advice, but I think I might have it nailed now haha. If you give this a go, let me know in the comments and I would love to check out your post.
