Priming, is one of the most important stages in make up. It really helps to keep your makeup in place all day and provides a better base for foundation and concealer. These are my favourite primers and the one's I would most recommend you purchase.
NYX Angel Veil
This primer reminds me a lot of the Hourglass Weil Primer. It is very similar in texture and application for a fraction of the price. The texture of this product is very velvety and I have found it really helps improve the longevity of my makeup. This product is also oil free so it is perfect for dry or oily skin. It can be purchased here for £12.
Too Faced HangoveRX | REVIEW
This is arguably my most favourite primer. I purchased it in Sephora in August last year and it has honestly been one of the best investments in my collection. This product is brilliant for anyone with dry-combination skin. I really love how smoothing and hydrating it feels on the skin. It is silicon free which is perfect for drier skin types. This product retails for £27 and you can purchase it here.
Make Up Forever Step 1 - Hydration
I received this primer for my christmas this year and I am absolutely in love with it. It is so perfect at this time of the year since it is much colder, my skin gets quite dry and therefore using this primer is perfect to hydrate my skin. It can be purchased here for £24.
Soap&Glory Hocus Focus
Soap&Glory Hocus Focus
This primer is great for adding on top of a primer to add illumination to the skin. I like to apply this to the tops of the cheek bones and down my nose. This product is £11 and can be bought here!
Smash box PhotoFinish Primer Water | REVIEW
I purchased the full size of this product from Sephora and instantly fell in love with it. It is great for prolonging the wear of your makeup and makes the skin look more even and flawless for foundation application. This product can be purchased here for £20.

The Too Faced Hangover sounds just amazing! Hocus Pocus isn't one I ever tend to heard about, although I like S&G's One Heck Of A Blot! Thanks for sharing, new recommendations to me! xxx

That primer looks amazing!!! X
DeleteI'm a bit lazy with my primer and tend to just pick up cheap ones, it might be worth investing in a better one though :)

It deffo helps improve the way foundation works! X
DeleteI haven't tried any of those in your list, so I found this very informative. I do have the Hourglass Veil and I definitely will try the NYX when it runs out. I have been very confused by Smashbox Primer Water. I don't get how it works. How do you apply it?
ReplyDeleteI attached a link next to the caption of the primer water which is a complete review so you can read about it there but it's basically their photo finish primer but in a spray version so it's much quicker/hydrating/more hygienic for the skin x
DeleteSmashbox Primer Water is absolutely gorgeous! It's hands down my favourite primer, it's the only thing that can get makeup to stick to my oily skin. I adore it.

DeleteThe only one of these primers I've tried is the Smashbox Photofinish Water and I didn't really love it as a face primer, but I found it great for applying between layers of foundation and/or contour. I really want to try the Hangover RX one though. Great post :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting lovely :) x
DeleteI've been dying to try the Hangover primer. I'm already a fan of the Hourglass one so now I just have to try that NYX one. The Smashbox water is on point, I need another bottle. Nice primer collection!
ReplyDeleteThank you love :))
DeleteAfter trying a lot of primers I like the one from Too Faced and Smashbox and I love the Make-up Forever one

DeleteI have ezcema and I was wanting the too faced primer, do you reckon it will help hydrate my skin or irritate it? Thanks for any help u can get to me
ReplyDeleteIt is very hydrating but I would recommend talking with your GP to ensure that your skin wouldn't react badly to it. It is a very light product so I wouldn't expect you to react badly to it. As I have sensitive skin I have never had a problem. If you use a cream for your skin condition I think you could apply that and then apply this primer on top but check with your GP So he can see the ingredients :) thanks for commenting and I hope you like the primer if you chose to purchase :) X
DeleteAwesome picks! I love all of them but I haven't tried the Soap and Glory Hocus Focus primer yet. Sounds like an amazing product that I need to try next... xo
