Maybelline Lash Sensational: Is it worth the hype?

At the start of the year, I set myself the resolution of not opening more than one mascara at once... That failed after about one week. I am mascara obsessed, I own far too many and they all seem to be open. However, one mascara in particular as received a LOT of hype over the past year so I decided to step on the band wagon and see what all the fuss was about. The BeautySpin website has this mascara at a discounted price.

Packaging
The packaging of this mascara is so sleek and girly looking. The packaging is a shimmery rose gold with large black font.
The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara has a rubber wand which normally is not my favourite, I normally prefer bristle brushes to ensure I get maximum volume at the root of my eyelashes. However, this rubber wand really volumises and lengthens the lashes at the same time. The head of the brush itself is slightly curved  which really helps to get to the root of the lashes ensuring that every lash is coated evenly.

Formula
The Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara dries very fast which is a great thing for me, however if you prefer layering up your mascara to improve the length and volume, then you need to work a lot faster than you normally would. The formula is completely clump free which is amazing for me because I like my eyelashes to look natural rather than spidery. When I want more drama to the eyes, I'll opt for falsies. I personally do not like my eyelashes feel caked and crunchy. Maybelline now also have a waterproof version, which is great for people who will be wearing their makeup on for longer. Using a waterproof mascara also helps to keep the curl in your lashes last a lot longer. You can also get the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara from the BeautySpin website for £7.

Volume and Length
Due to the varying lengths of bristles, this mascara really helps to lift and curl the eyelashes which makes your eyelashes look more volumised.

Longevity
The great thing I have found about this mascara is that it does not smudge and holds the curl well. I have found that curling my lashes prior to using this mascara, it really helps to improve the length that the curl is held for.

Overall, I really like this mascara, it is easy to access since it is drugstore which also means the price is extremely affordable. I use this mascara almost everyday now. Have you tried this mascara out?

  5. I love this mascara, it works very well at lengthening and providing quick full volume. I don't know if it is one of my favourites but for the price its a great one to have in the collection. I do find the formula does change over time, it started off very wet but a month later seems a lot drier (not dried up) but it appears differently on the lashes!

Loved your photos too very good detail on that brush haha!
